About Sharon Ellis
Since retiring from a successful career in graphic design and publicity spanning more than thirty years, Sharon has focused on portraiture. She enjoys the challenge of capturing a likeness. Using a variety of approaches, she can produce a faithful rendering of people or animals using the medium of oil, pastels or pencil. Should you wish to commission her, she would require a good quality photograph or, if distance is not too great, she will work from life. |
The Practical Bit!
Have a look at my Gallery. Not just to look for paintings to buy, but also to give you an idea of the variety of styles you could choose from should you wish to commission me to paint, draw or sculpt a portrait.
Contact me for a clear idea of the fee I would charge based on size, medium of the portrait and complexity of the subject matter: post and packing or delivery will be at cost price. I think it’s important to get as much information as possible about your preferences at the initial briefing so that I can give you an accurate price, and we are both very clear about what you will be getting and what I need to do to make you happy with the finished result!
I’m not so inflexible about my work that I would not entertain you directing me as to how you would like to see the portrait. My background career was in graphic design and I am well used to this – after all, he who pays the piper calls the tune!
Charities and Good Causes
How about holding an Auction to raise funds for your favourite charity? The main prize could be a portrait painted by me for the highest bidder (I would set a reserve). I would happily only charge for materials, and the rest of the fee would go to your Good Cause! It would be a lovely gift, because the final recipient of the portrait would be aware that a worthy Charity has benefitted from the expense.
